Saints Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Church is a Christian community in Crown Point, Indiana, serving Macedonian Orthodox families and other Orthodox believers both in Crown Point and throughout the Northwest Indiana.
The parish’s name tells a great deal about who we are:
· The parish is named for the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, which places the church under their spiritual patronage. It is the first Macedonian Orthodox Church in North America, founded in 1963. As these apostles were the first who preached Christ’s Gospel throughout the world, this church is the first church to perform the Christian mission among the Macedonians in North America.
· The parish is Macedonian, meaning that it is part of the American-Canadian Macedonian Orthodox Diocese, the American presence of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric.
· Sts. Peter and Paul’s is Orthodox, meaning that it follows the ancient, traditional Christian faith as given by Jesus Christ to His Apostles, and also making the parish part of the worldwide Orthodox Church.
· The parish is also a Church, indicating that its sole purpose is the transformation, healing and salvation of its members, as well as all those whose lives it may touch.
